excited about our 2013 – 2014 orchestras. This year will prove to be a musical, learning and exciting time. To get prepared
for the audition process I have included some information that you may download from the westbloomfieldorchestra website.
I will be starting auditions the first week of school therefore you need to start preparing now. You will need the following
for your audition:
****Scales
– Download the specific scales and suggested fingers.
****Solo
- You will also need a solo or etude that demonstrates your most advance musical ability.Prepare 2 minutes of a solo or etude. Make certain that it shows your most advanced
level of your playing. NO orchestra excerpts are allowed.
a) When
practicing your solo, check your pitches with a tuner.
b) Use
an metronome to keep a steady tempo.
c) Speed
is not the most important thing - consistant rhythm, pitch and tone.
